Find out more about the latest news, views and trends in electrostatic flavour and powder application by visiting the Spice Application Systems stand at this month’s Anuga FoodTec.
SAS’s latest electrostatic equipment for the food manufacturing industry will be on display; a new-style drum for the application of flavourings to conventional snacks, and a new spice coating conveying system for rice cakes, biscuits and similar products.
The show takes place March 27-30 in Cologne, Germany, and managing director Peter King will be on hand to explain how electrostatics can save money, reduce powder wastage, improve product quality and boost energy efficiency.
A world leader in the use of electrostatics in food processing, SAS already has more than 1,500 units already installed on food processing production lines around the world.
The technology is ideal for use with a wide range of products, including snacks, confectionery, cheese products, breakfast cereals, frozen foods and dry pet food.
Equipment can either be installed on new machinery or retrofitted to existing production lines and, because electrostatic technology ensures products receive a 100% coating of powders, it dramatically cuts wastage and keeps costs down through savings on powder.
“Electrostatics is a winner at all levels,” said Peter King. “It is easy to fit, keeps production lines clean and working more efficiently because there is less wastage and less dust in the air. At the same time, products receive a much more even coating, delivering a better end product for the consumer.”
