Who is SAS
Spice Application Systems (SAS) is the world leader of Electrostatic Spray Equipment for the food and pharmaceutical industry.

SAS Electrostatic Spray Equipment is designed specifically for Food and Pharmaceutical Applications which improves consistency and reduces applied costs. Powder, Oil and Slurry Systems are the most common process applications for SAS products.

Current Food Processing Technology
Traditionally most manufactures of food products apply a flavor agent (spice) to their products using a tumbling drum similar to a cement mixer. These drums may be up to 5 meters in length. This type of application gives poor product coverage, causes damage to the fragile products, and is energy intensive. The current process results in several quality issues. To try to overcome the quality problems, more spice than is necessary is used resulting in excess usage and high spice waste. The problem is further aggravated by dust flying in the air from the spice being applied.

The Improved Approach
SAS technology solves the quality issues by improving (spice) consistency and reducing applied spice cost. The SAS equipment applies a static charge to the powder, oil or slurry while it is being sprayed on the base product. Because the spice powder or liquid is now charged it is attracted to the base product in need of coating.

Benefits
There are several benefits to the SAS electrostatic process, 100% coating of the product, less waste, reduced material cost, improved final product quality and cleaner manufacturing operations.

Lab Facility

Spice Application Systems offers food companies the opportunity to hire a fully equipped seasoning laboratory to achieve development projects at their new premises in Oxfordshire. The lab offers an economical alternative to manufacturers so they do not need to halt a production process for development and gives the R&D team the opportunity to run trials and adjust quantities as they go along. The lab facility, with its high level of security and excellent facilities, offers: a drum, an enclosed vibratory tray and an enclosed chain link on head system.

Upgrading Existing Production
SAS electrostatic equipment is designed to fit existing production lines and will work with all common types of pump and screw feeders. Systems can be fitted to existing drums on existing production lines. SAS products can be configured to apply both oil and dry spice simultaneously from the same control panel.

Support
SAS factory application specialists travel the world providing food and pharmaceutical solutions.

SAS also has a factory trained distributors network to provide local service and training should it be required.
